The Grapevine Rotary Club was chartered in 1967 with 30 members, and at that time only males could be members of Rotary.  In 1987 women could become members, and Jo Ann Parkman was the first woman to be inducted into the Grapevine Rotary Club.   Jo Ann relocated to Paris, Texas due to her job and continues to be active in Rotary.  She is a Past District Governor of her district.  Carol Record, a current active member, was the first woman to be elected as president of the Grapevine Rotary Club.  As of 2017, approximately one-third (1/3) of the members of the Grapevine Rotary Club are women.

The Grapevine Rotary Club has been a major benefactor for charitable and community causes since its founding. Today, Grapevine Rotary continues to be a generous contributor to humanitarian and other worthwhile causes in Grapevine, as well as nationally and internationally. Rotarians are involved in leadership roles in many local organizations including the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, Grapevine Historical Society, Grapevine Convention and Visitors, and serving on the Grapevine City Council and the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees.
