The Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peach through international humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange programs.
The Foundation’s Humanitarian Programs fund international Rotary club and district projects to improve the quality of life, providing health care, clean water, food, education and other essential needs primarily in the developing world. One of the major Humanitarian Programs is PolioPlus, which seeks to eradicate the polio virus worldwide. Through its Educational Programs, the Foundation provides funding for 1200 students to study abroad each year. Grants are also awarded to university teachers to teach in developing countries and for exchanges of business and professional people.
The Rotary Foundation is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. Contributions are also made to the Rotary Foundation through the Paul Harris Fellow Program. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
The Paul Harris Fellow was established in 1957 to show appreciation for and encourage substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study, the precursor to Ambassadorial Scholarships.
The Grapevine Rotary Club has written grants and received funding for many grants.

Rotary: Making a Difference
Several members from the Grapevine Rotary Club, Grapevine Heritage AmBucs and GRACE participated in a humanitarian mission to Parras de la Fuente, Mexico, March 23-25, 2018 to deliver a refurbished handicap accessible bus and 120 wheelchairs and Amtrykes to citizens in need there .... so many people worked hard to make this happen and individuals participating were blessed and honored to be there to give the gift of mobility to so many individuals. Grapevine Rotarian Duff O’Dell said, “Just seeing the happy look on children’s faces and the gratitude in the eyes of seniors was worth the long trip and all the fundraising!” This event is indeed an example of Rotary: Making a Difference!
